Final Pieces (Updated)
Since carrying out my evaluation, I decided I would make a few changes to my final pieces to improve them from my descisions. The front cover i have not changed much, and have just added a qr code that could have a link to there website, and also added links to there facebook and twitter profiles. The reason i did this was to fill dead space and make the page feel busier, whilst still keeping it tidy and having relevant information. The contents i changed alot, I renumbered pages to give me more space and allow advertising space. I also added a editors letter and about subscribing to the magazine as these are very common on most magazines, and i feel helped to neaten the contents page up. I also added the masthead to the page to fill a bit of dead space, and began adding a few advertisements and also starting a did you know feature in the bar along the bottom to give it a use, and also make the magazine more fun. Lastly the double page spread I again carried over adding advertisements and the did you know feature which i feel work really well to use up space. I also added in reviews to the top bar so it didnt feel empty. Again the masthead has been placed on the page and lastly i added a pug to show it is an exlusive article. The most major change would be the splitting hte text up into 3 columns. Although i did before justify breaking this convention, on looking back at hte product whilst evaluating i decided against the idea, and as it was not completely an e-mag, it would be best to stick to the normal way. Overall I am very pleased with the changes and feel it has helped to improve the quality of the magazine greatly, and can see my photoshop skills have improved greatly as I managed it from the jpeg files I had as i did no longer have the psd files.
